PFC Power Packs™

We take diet and nutrition seriously, as hundreds of studies over the last decade have shown its connection to and role in preventing certain types of cancers. In fact, research conducted by the World Health Organization notes that dietary factors account for 30 percent of cancers in Western countries, making diet second only to tobacco as a preventable cause of cancer.

While it’s important for everyone to maintain a healthy, balanced diet, it’s especially critical for children. A child that receives a sufficient amount of food and nutrition is likely to lower their odds of developing cancer as an adult. Children that practice healthy eating habits are also more likely to carry those habits into adulthood.

That’s why we distribute Power Pack meals. These meals contain healthy food to replace the calories kids are missing over the 68-hour hunger gap from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

What Goes in a Power Pack?

Pan-Florida Challenge provides a different meal every week of each month with the help of our food distribution partners, Meals of Hope. The contents of our Power Packs have been examined by medical professionals at Moffitt Cancer Center to ensure their quality and nutritional value.
